Our generation, this snapshot of U.S. history in which we appear every day, will someday be known as the Marijuana Generation. Perhaps this period of time, when so many states have legalized the retail distribution of marijuana or are debating when or whether to legalize it will someday be known as the Marijuana Era.
It will take ten or fifteen years for us to have a mostly clear understanding of the pros and cons of retail marijuana distribution. In the meantime, as Connecticut moves incrementally closer to legalizing the sale of marijuana, how do we inform ourselves, our children and our families, in a dispassionate, scientific manner about marijuana?
Dr. Kevin Hill will be the lead speaker for a Panel Discussion entitled, “Marijuana Just the Facts.” May 8th at Saxe Middle School in Hawthorne, NY, Connecticut
Dr. Hill is a nationally recognized expert on the chemistry, mental, and emotional health considerations concerning marijuana. The Panel Discussion will be moderated by John Hamilton, LCSW, LADC, who is the Chief Clinical Outreach Officer at Mountainside Recovery Center. John is a tremendously talented clinician, gifted speaker and a very skilled moderator. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will finish at 8:30 p.m.
This event is a superb and important opportunity to inform ourselves about marijuana and the considerations that bear directly upon our health and culture as they relate to marijuana. I will be there and I encourage as many of you as possible to also attend.
The point is not to either heroize or vilify marijuana. The point is to be informed and therefore make decisions that are consistent with our personal priorities and those of our families.
