Going to school is usually uneventful for most teenagers in Connecticut. Unfortunately, a recent accident turned what might have otherwise been a normal morning commute into something much more terrifying. Four students were involved in that wreck, two of whom suffered serious head injuries.

The wreck happened at approximately 7:15 a.m., when there were four students aboard a bus on their way to school. Police believe that a 30-year-old driver is responsible for the collision between his vehicle and the students’ bus. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle because the roads were wet, and he hit the front end of the school bus with the side of his own car.

Of the four students, two were evaluated at the scene and then picked up by their parents. The other two were not so lucky and suffered neck and head injuries. The bus driver also suffered unspecified injuries, and all three were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Connecticut police say that the driver who allegedly caused the wreck also needed medical treatment.

Head injuries are nothing to take lightly. Even a minor head trauma can have profoundly negative consequences, especially for children and teenagers who are still growing and developing. Getting the right treatment is an important component of recovering from head injuries, but that can be difficult when victims or their parents are struggling with the financial damages of an accident. Pursuing compensation through a personal injury claim may be a good option for victims in this situation.
